Healing from the inside out

For me to understand what is meant by healing from the inside out it is important to understand a few things.
Firstly that everything is energy, the whole universe is just made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. We too are just energy and there are 4 aspects of self: Body, Mind Spirit & Emotion. In order for us to experience true sustainable health and well-being all four aspect need to be in balance and working in harmony with each other.

Traditional healing modalities teach that external physical and mental ill health actually comes from spiritual & emotional dis-ease, meaning a congestion or blockage in the energy body.
So with that said I think it is important to understand exactly what our emotions are.

They are E-motions, energy in motion and these emotions are triggered by either external or internal stimulus. These stimuluses cause our bodies to release various chemicals and hormones which take 90 seconds to move through the body and then need to be released from the body in some physical way.

If you’ve ever watched a small child you can easily see the play of emotions. The child may go from jumping in joy to stamping their feet in frustration to sobbing in sadness to screaming in anger……. all in the space of a few minutes. When feeling very intense emotions the child may start to tremor or shake, This is the bodies way of releasing the flood of chemicals flowing through the body.

The problem is we live in a world that feels great discomfort at the show of emotions, especially so called negative ones and because of this most of us are taught at a very young age that it’s not safe to show our emotions and learn to instead suppress them

This means that the chemicals released do not pass out of the body but instead get stored at a cellular level, which not only leads to stress and tension within the body but also to an inability to express these emotions as feelings. – Feelings are our minds awareness of these energies.

Over time more and more unexpressed emotions become stored in the body which can lead to ill health and disease.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine there are 5 primary emotions:

These emotions are felt by the nervous system and therefore stimulate the organs, glands and body parts “fed” by the specific nerves affected. If not dealt with, this can lead to less than optimal functioning of the corresponding body part and eventually disease and illness.

As mentioned Energy is just vibration and all things vibrate at their own frequency, Emotions like joy, love, gratitude, and passion are associated with high vibrational frequencies, while fear, anger, guilt, and sadness are linked to lower.

According to the Spiritual Law of attraction our frequency dictates what we attract into our lives because like attracts like. This means that if we are constantly angry we will attract angry people or situations into our lives.
This is not the same as opposites attract, which I believe to be more about personality and ego, like attracts like is all about vibrational frequency and you can only attract things of a similar vibration into your life.
You may have heard that our thoughts and words create our reality and this is because like everything else they are just vibration. When we have an angry thought we are lowering our vibration to that of anger and when we have a loving thought then our vibration raises to meet it.

What I find quit fascinating and sad is what a negative world we live in. Most of us think and speak in the negative. We say things like, don’t do this, don’t do that, don’t forget, I don’t want ….. etc The interesting thing is that the subconscious brain can not process the word don’t, this means that whatever comes after is what we focus on.

Have you noticed a young child’s response when told for example, little Johnny don’t run. Little Johnny possibly stopped, looked at you with confusion and then continued to run anyway, or just kept on running seemingly ignoring you. A better option would be Little Johnny please walk because if you run you may fall and hurt yourself. Here you have told him exactly what he should do as well as the reasons why.

How often have you asked someone not to forget something and of course they forget. Next time try asking them to remember… The law of Attention states that whatever you give attention to manifests. Where your attention goes, energy flows.

This means that whatever we spend the most time thinking and talking about is what we will attract into our lives. I’m sure we can all think of occasions when we where so focused on not wanting something or stuck in a negative belief about ourself and those thoughts came true. What we think we invite into our lives.

I am, are actually two of the most powerful words, as what ever you put after them is what you will manifest.
I am stupid
I am lazy
I am angry

For me it’s important to differentiate between doing a stupid thing (we all have!) and being stupid, to feeling a certain way in the moment and being that emotion.
That was a stupid thing to do
At the moment I feel lazy, so am going to give myself a few moments to re-energize
I feel angry because….
This way of thinking shifts us away from being the emotion to merely experiencing it in the moment.
The more you dwell on what you don’t want the more of it you create.
Try focusing instead on what you do want and see what happens.

Remember our state of mind creates our state of being and what we focus on is what we will attract. Understanding that everything happens for a reason helped me to realize that every situation, no matter how “bad’ it may seem is actually happening for me and not to me. There is always something to learn or some growth to be had or perhaps its just a release of Karmic burdens (Karma – cause and effect, for every action there is a reaction)

Instead of complaining why me when things aren’t as you’d like rather ask what can I learn from this? If we do not learn the lesson or grow , then we will continue to attract similar people or situation to us until we do. (think of someone who moves from one abusive relationship to another!)

A big part of healing from the inside out is about understanding body signals and learning to listen to your body. The body always talks to us, it starts with a whisper and if ignored (as so many of us do) ends in a shout, manifesting in some form of dread disease or other.

Healing from the inside out is all about taking responsibility for your own health, well-being and happiness, about understanding we are energy beings and everything in our life is there for a reason. Consciously or subconsciously we manifest our reality either by choice or our frequency.

Become conscious of your thoughts and words and look to find the growth and learning from all situations.
